ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) and sustainable development: corporate governance and social impacts in Brazil.

This article explores the relevance of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) practices in the Brazilian context, with a focus on social impacts and corporate governance as pillars for sustainable development. The research problem centers on how the adoption of these practices can transform business management and generate widely disseminated social benefits. The general objective is to analyze the implementation of ESG practices in Brazil, while the specific objectives are to identify the challenges and opportunities presented by the national scenario. The work is structured as a reflective theoretical essay, based on a critical theoretical review, comparing concepts and definitions with empirical cases highlighted through reports from B3 and ANBIMA. The results indicate that companies adopting ESG practices achieve greater operational efficiency and positive impacts on social indicators, highlighting the importance of responsible governance.
