Brazil has seen, in recent years, considerable growth in the number of GI registrations, thus arousing the interest of regions with potential production or provision of services to structure themselves to request a GI request. This article aims to analyze the GI potential for Cerâmica Serra da Capivara products. For this, the methodology of the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service-SEBRAE was used, obtaining answers to the questions that make up this methodology. Due to the maximum score (5) obtained in 77% of the analyzed criteria, a final average of 4.87, with emphasis on evidence of the reputation of Cerâmica Serra da Capivara, as well as the characteristics linked to the region and the natural and human factors that impact on the quality of the products, it is concluded that there is potential for Geographical Indication for this production, initially in the Indication of Origin species.
2025-03-23T00:00:00-03:00 Copyright (c) 2025 https://seer.faccat.br/index.php/coloquio/article/view/3648 ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) and sustainable development: corporate governance and social impacts in Brazil. 2024-11-28T20:30:44-03:00 Matheus Martini matheusmartini13@gmail.com Dusan Schreiber dusan@feevale.br
This article explores the relevance of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) practices in the Brazilian context, with a focus on social impacts and corporate governance as pillars for sustainable development. The research, of a qualitative and bibliographical nature, questions the transformations that overtourism causes in the city of Gramado, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil and its effects on the daily life of the community. The objective of the study is to analyze the implications of tourism expansion in this location, specifically in the socioeconomic and environmental contexts; in addition to exploring ways that collaborate in the management of the negative effects. As a result, the research presents social innovation as a solution, which can be applied in Gramado to manage the challenges of overtourism through new forms of governance for the tourist destination and technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information System).

Keywords: overtourism; social innovation; Gramado
2025-03-23T00:00:00-03:00 Copyright (c) 2025 https://seer.faccat.br/index.php/coloquio/article/view/3626 Sustainable practices in the footwear industry 2024-11-20T08:15:55-03:00 Karla Mazzotti mazzottikarla@gmail.com Dusan Schreiber dusan@feevale.br
The footwear industry, based on the linear production model, is one of the sectors that causes the greatest environmental impact, through the generation of solid waste and complex recycling. In order to contribute to mitigating impacts and expanding the debate on the topic, a literature review was carried out on sustainable practices included in this industry. The research, made between August and November 2024, in the Web of Science database, selecting only publications from the last five years (2019-2024). Based on the pillars of the circular economy, supported by the slow fashion model of production and consumption, the findings point to the challenges in relation to ecodesign, the disposal and reuse of materials, and other sustainable actions arising from this industry. It is hoped that this study can contribute to academic research in the area, in addition to highlighting the importance of the topic for the sector.
2025-03-23T00:00:00-03:00 Copyright (c) 2025 https://seer.faccat.br/index.php/coloquio/article/view/3748 Assessment of the administrative and political sustainability of the project Localizing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Brazil. 2025-02-14T15:39:40-03:00 Fani Lúcia Martendal Eberhardt fani.eberhardt@ifc.edu.br Oklinger Mantovaneli Júnior oklinger@furb.br
On the journey towards sustainable development, 193 countries made a commitment represented by the 2030 Agenda. Thus, these systems are embedded in contexts of socio-environmental and climate injustices, as they contribute the least to climate change yet suffer the most from its impacts, often manifested through socio-environmental disasters. This paper aims to provide an overview of socio-environmental challenges in Northeast Brazil and how the region exemplifies situations of socio-environmental and climate injustices. The methodology follows a qualitative research approach, utilizing literature review and secondary data as research tools. The results indicate that the Brazilian Northeast and its populations face climate injustices, given that it is the second least GHG-emitting macro-region in Brazil but suffers the most from the impacts of these emissions, such as socio-environmental disasters. The most common of these are related to extreme rainfall and droughts, including floods and dry spells. These extreme climate events have been exacerbated by global warming, as indicated by data from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) reports.
2025-03-23T00:00:00-03:00 Copyright (c) 2025 https://seer.faccat.br/index.php/coloquio/article/view/2628 The effects of public universities on the economy of municipalities in Minas Gerais 2024-04-22T09:52:32-03:00 Vicente dos Santos Guilherme Júnior vicentej@alunos.utfpr.edu.br Monique da Costa Martins moniquemartins@alunos.utfpr.edu.br Maria Lúcia Figueiredo Gomes de Meza malumeza2@gmail.com
Considering that universities are one of the most relevant sources of technological and scientific knowledge, this study aims to verify whether there is a relationship between the result of the Municipalities Competitiveness Ranking - 2021 and the presence or not of public universities in these municipalities, in a specific cut of the municipalities in Minas Gerais. The analysis carried out refers only to the "Economy" dimension, and to the pillars "Innovation and economic dynamism" and "Human capital"; starting from the hypothesis that the presence of public universities has the potential to positively impact the municipalities that house such institutions, translating into better performance in the ranking regarding the pillars analyzed. This investigation is justified, to a large extent, by the need to reflect on the importance of universities for the country, in a context in which their relevance to society has been questioned so much, also marked by successive contingencies of resources that end up limiting the capacity of these institutions to act.
2025-03-23T00:00:00-03:00 Copyright (c) 2025 https://seer.faccat.br/index.php/coloquio/article/view/3655 Conceptual framework of Brazilian universities in the context of the quadruple helix. 2024-11-30T16:50:52-03:00 Suely Xavier dos Santos suely.xavier@ufersa.edu.br Cristine Hermann Nodari cristine.nodari@unp.br Ana Maria Magalhães Correia anamagalhaes@ccae.ufpb.br Ana Lúcia Brenner Barreto Miranda analucia@ufersa.edu.br Walid Abbas El-Aouar walid.aouar@animaeducacao.com.br
The research proposes a conceptual framework that serves as a guiding instrument for university-society relations. The results show that REBLAS certification is a differentiator in the sector, but factors such as close audits, on-time completion and quality of service are essential for customers. Competition among rivals is moderate and few laboratories can perform specific analyses, leading to a monopoly. The entry of new competitors faces financial and regulatory barriers. The threat of substitute products manifests itself in the internalization of analysis, considered feasible and costly. Concerning the interpretation of this scenario, the relevance of non-agricultural activities and their impact on food and nutritional security in rural Northeastern households is investigated. For this diagnosis, data from the National Household Sample Survey (2013) and the Propensity Score Matching (PSM) model are used, emphasizing the Kernel and Nearest Neighbor (NN) methods. It was seen that non-agricultural activities contribute to the condition of food and nutrition security in the Northeast, and both methods showed quality of pairing. It can be seen that in the northeastern states the implications of new opportunities for generating income in the countryside corroborate the minimization of food insecurity and are perceptions to combat the present condition.
2025-03-23T00:00:00-03:00 Copyright (c) 2025 https://seer.faccat.br/index.php/coloquio/article/view/3719 Brazilian market for fertilizers and correctives for the recovery of degraded pastures in the state of Pará. 2025-01-13T11:17:34-03:00 Thamires Beatriz dos Santos Caitano thamirescaitano@hotmail.com Alfredo Kingo Oyama Homma alfredo.homma@gmail.com
Cattle farming is an important economic activity in the state of Pará, which requires the use of fertilizers and correctives to recover degraded pastures and create more productive pastures. According to the National Fertilizer Plan (PNF 2050), more than 80% of the NPK (Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium) chemical fertilizers used in the country are imported, making it necessary to increase domestic production, especially by mining the phosphorus and potassium reserves located in the Legal Amazon. Against this backdrop, the aim of this research was to analyze the market for fertilizers and correctives for recovering degraded pastures in the state of Pará, by means of a bibliographical survey and secondary data. In Pará, only 371,336 tons of NPK nutrients were delivered to the market in 2023. The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA) has few records of establishments producing mineral fertilizers (15) and correctives (12), and none of remineralizers or organic fertilizers in Pará, although it has a great deal of geodiversity, with hundreds of mining processes for substances used in the agricultural sector, especially phosphates and limestone in the research phase, which could meet local demand, such as the gypsum and limestone reserves of the Aveiro Agrominerals Project. The results show that there is a need for government incentives to set up more companies producing fertilizers and correctives in the state, as well as alternative inputs aimed at recovering degraded pastures, in order to reduce the costs of agricultural production and, above all, the deforestation and burning of the Amazon rainforest to form pastures.
2025-03-23T00:00:00-03:00 Copyright (c) 2025 https://seer.faccat.br/index.php/coloquio/article/view/2462 Expediente 2022-03-15T16:37:39-03:00 Jorge Amaral de Moraes jmoraes12@gmail.com 2025-03-23T00:00:00-03:00 Copyright (c) 2022
