A MORTE E O LUTO EM SOAP OPERAS: O CASO MASON EM CORONATION STREET
Resumo
Este artigo analisa o impacto da morte na narrativa de soap opera, com foco no ataque e morte do personagem Mason de Coronation Street. No contexto narrativo, a morte do personagem não é apenas um evento isolado, mas um processo com repercussões emocionais e sociais na comunidade ficcional. A discussão articula a proposta de John Ellis, a ética da representação da morte de Sobchack e as reflexões de Tony Walter sobre a morte na modernidade. Argumenta-se que, longe de ser um evento isolado, a morte reverbera na comunidade ficcional, estruturando questões éticas e emocionais que envolvem o espectador.
