Abstract

The production systems of the meat supply chain are facing global challenges in alignment with the precepts of sustainability, with the objective of making food available safely to the growing world population. Therefore, it is understood that the consumption stage represents a constant pressure on the demand and image of beef cattle, and efforts are directed to understand consumer preferences, especially since a society is made up of the sum of preferences and choices. In this context, the present study aimed to analyze and corroborate the future of beef cattle consumption in Brazil. The first step admitted the document entitled “The future of the Brazilian beef cattle supply chain: a vision for 2040”; the second step occurred through bibliographic research. The results showed that the consumer's view, product availability and consumption habits are elements for understanding the expectations and demands of consumers, showing directions to serve such consumers. This study contributes to academic-scientific and business debates by analyzing consumption trends in the beef cattle supply chain in 2040, especifically by systematizing the elements that influence the specific stage.
