The graduation experience as a possibility for new ways of subjectification
Abstract
This study aims to explore how different stances on life can open new ways of subjectification in studies and practices in psychology. In this instance, processes that are crystallized in studies in psychology are rethought, supporting studies that are more critical and reflective, capacitating professionals to practice in a way that is more committed with psychology and its role in society. Therefore, González Rey’s Theory of Subjectivity allows one to think, with its concepts, the way these processes are configurated in psychology and its professionals, in addition to thinking about the stances that help open alternative paths from the ones that are crystallized. This study utilizes a qualitative approach, the constructive-interpretative method developed from González Rey’s Qualitative Epistemology, to think the way these stances are configurated in the participant’s individual subjectivity, as well as in psychology’s social subjectivity. Thus, it is concluded that the process of appropriation of psychology and one’s implication in their studies and practices facilitate the opening of these paths that allow for a more reflective and creative practice.
